Tashi, whose name translates to “Lucky Charm,” is a driven and dedicated professional in Bhutan’s tourism and hospitality sector. Originally a commerce student, he went on to excel in Tourism and Hospitality studies at the RITH Institute, where he also acquired his tour guide license. With a strong work ethic and a naturally positive outlook, Tashi brings both enthusiasm and expertise to every guiding assignment.
Beyond his formal education, Tashi’s commitment to personal and professional growth is evident in his extensive training. He is a certified participant of the South Asian Youth Camp and has been actively involved in youth peer education and leadership programs. In addition, he completed multiple courses with the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) out of USA, focusing on wilderness medicine and rescue. During the pandemic, he further enhanced his qualifications by undertaking an advanced cultural guiding course through the Desuung Skilling Program, deepening his already vast knowledge of Bhutanese culture, history, and Buddhism.
When not guiding, Tashi volunteers as a mentor for the Youth Development Organization, reflecting his dedication to empowering the next generation. Known for his warm sense of humor, positive energy, and genuine rapport with guests, Tashi is also an accomplished singer—equally comfortable performing Bhutanese folk songs or contemporary English hits. His dynamic blend of skills, passion, and community spirit make him a standout guide and a true ambassador of Bhutan’s rich cultural heritage.
